Situation: The Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD)
is an accredited, award-winning art and design college.
The admissions department desired a tool that would
give them the ability to coordinate their recruiting efforts and
manage the admissions process in an easy-to-use system. In addition,
they wanted a system that integrated with their internal database to
make student information available to other departments at the
college.
Solution: MCAD consulted with Reside to determine if a Customer
Relationship Management (CRM) system could be customized to fit
their needs. After meeting with the MCAD team, it was
determined that prospective students could be organized as "leads"
in the Salesforce.com CRM system, and then as contacts - tied to
their secondary schools. Through the customization of the CRM
system MCAD was able to track which high schools and what activities
at those schools produced high-quality students.
Reside also coordinated a data push from the existing database
system to display all of MCAD's communications at the individual
student level. With the new system in place, MCAD - in their
unique educational environment - is able to harness the efficiencies
of a traditional business-to-business application in their
customized Salesforce.com system.
Result: "Nine months after our CRM implementation MCAD experienced a 25%
increase in applications from new students. Marketing and
communication has been more effective to prospective students -
helping them move through the complicated admissions process
efficiently and effectively."
